Rho Gammas

Recruitment is an exciting and memorable experience, but it can be a hectic and emotional time as well. Recruitment counselors, referred to as Rho Gammas, are undergraduate women at WMU who have disaffiliated from their chapters – you will be assigned a Rho Gamma group, and will have meetings with her throughout the process.

Rho Gammas, who have participated in recruitment themselves, have been through an extensive semester-long training program in preparation for recruitment week. They have your best interest at heart and are available to help you during the week of recruitment by serving as an impartial listener and friend.

Why I chose to be Head Gamma: I wanted to be a Rho Gamma to help girls find their forever homes. My own Rho Gam during Primary recruitment was amazing and ultimately inspired me to want to be a reliable, encouraging mentor, and also supportive friend for PNMs.

My biggest tip for Recruitment:

My biggest advice for PNMS is to be yourself and keep an open mind throughout the process. All sororities here at Western have amazing qualities and are wanting to get to know you for who you truly are!!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:

I chose to be a Rho Gamma because my Rho Gamma helped me a lot with choosing where I wanted to be when I was going through recruitment. I want to be able to help girls the same way she helped me!

My biggest tip for Recruitment:

Don’t be nervous going in because every one of the girls have been in the same position as you at some point.

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:

I am interested in being a Rho Gamma for Fall 2024 because I have always found joy in helping others navigate new experiences. As someone who cherishes the bonds formed through Greek life, I believe guidance during the recruitment process is crucial.

My biggest tip for Recruitment:

Be yourself and keep an open mind.

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma: I wanted to be a Rho Gamma because my Rho Gamma had a huge impact on my trust in the process and she was a major place of comfort for me when dealing with anxiousness from the process. I want to be there for all of you the way she was there for me!

I chose to be a Rho Gamma because I wanted to enhance the new girl's experience by making the transition easier by helping them find their home away from home.

My biggest tip for Recruitment:

Be yourself and have fun, even though the process can seem overwhelming, but ultimately we’re all just getting to know each other, so just be you and you’ll find your people.

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:

I chose to be a Rho Gamma because I want to help and inspire girls to find where they’re meant to be. I want to be a positive guide and be a friend that these girls can turn to during the process. I can’t wait for how much fun we’ll all have together!

My Biggest Tip for Recruitment:

Go into the process with an open mind, have fun with it, and most importantly trust that wherever you end up it’s meant to be. Soon enough where you end up will feel like home, and these next few years are going to be the greatest time!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma: I wanted to be able to provide a healthy support system for girls going through the process who will be feeling so many emotions during the week.

My biggest tip for recruitment: Be yourself, you’ll find sisters who get you like no other and that can relate to you on so many different levels if you make sure to not change who you truly are.

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:

I wanted to be a Rho Gamma because when I was going through formal recruitment as a freshman, my Rho Gamma was very supportive in my choosing process. I want to be that support for incoming PNM’s when they are going through the process of finding their home and I want to be the person they can come to for help before, during, and even after recruitment. I am so excited to be a Rho Gamma this fall and I can’t wait to meet our wonderful PNM’s!!!!

My biggest tip for recruitment:

Recruiters are just as nervous as you are, so never be afraid to show off your wonderful personalities and have fun while finding your home!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma: I love the recruitment process and watching women find their homes and their future sisters! I am so excited to be a part of the experience and help more women find their favorite people.

My biggest tip for recruitment:

Don’t worry about saying the “right things”, just be yourself and enjoy your time in the process. Things will work out how they should, and you’ll find your home away from home best when you are authentically you!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:

I have wanted to be a Rho Gamma ever since I went through formal recruitment. My Rho Gamma inspired me with how comfortable she made the process and the bond she made with all our group. Once running home, I knew I wanted to come back as a Rho Gamma myself, to share such a great experience with my own PNM’s! WOOHOO GO GREEK!

My biggest tip for recruitment:

My biggest tip for a PNM going through recruitment would be to come as you are! There is a place for you in any of our 7 chapters, and you’ll find your way by just being you!! Don’t stress, and be yourself 💝💘💕
